Do I Need Special Certifications To Operate A Pontoon Boat In Destin?
If your birthday was on or after January 1, 1988, you are required to have a boater’s license at the time of rental. If you don’t have one already, please come prepared by completing the required digital forms or take a simple half hour boating safety course upon arrival. The Florida State – Approved Boat Rental Course, must be completed before departure and the prices is $8.99 to complete digital form prior to arrival. We recommend completing all digital forms before arrival to help expedite your check-in process! For anyone born before 1988, a boater’s license for this rental is not required and you will be asked to provide a driver’s license to verify age.

Will There Be A Deposit Required When Renting A Crab Island Pontoon Boat?
Yes. We expect all customers to be always be safe and respect our equipment, but a $500 damage deposit is due when renting a pontoon boat for a half day adventure or reserving a pontoon rental for the entire day.

This Boat Education Course must be completed before license will be issued and Pontoon Boat rentals are allowed to depart. This boat safety course can be completed in online before arrival for $9.99.

What Else Do I Need To Know About Crab Island Boat Rentals?
The boat’s renter is required to be more than 18 years old, but there is no age limit for passengers. Our staff members will give you the simple demo of how to drive the boat before you take off, and you will be good to go! We will also familiarize you with the boat’s safety equipment (such as the personal floatation devices required by the U.S. Coast Guard). We will also be happy to go over the chart (water map) of the waters around Destin before you head out.
